Section Off

Before you begin with the fishtail braid, ensure that your hair is free of any knots as smooth, kink-free tresses are the key to a perfect hairstyle. Section out your hair as you normally do, and begin braiding at the right side. Grab the top section and split it into three equal parts.

Braid As Usual

Braid As Usual

Braid your strands thrice, beginning from the right strand. As soon as you reach the left strand, add in more hair to it in the same way as you do in a French braid and fold that strand to the center strand.

Drop the Strand

Step and Repeat

After French braiding your left strand, drop the right strand, letting it fall down. Then pick another hair piece adjacent to where your original strand fell—that is your new right strand.

Step and Repeat

Pin and Secure

Repeat step three, gradually cascading the style towards the middle of your head.

Fishtail It!

Once you have reached the point where you can comfortably stop your braid, fasten it carefully to the scalp using bobby pins.

Fishtail It

Braid the rest of your hair into a fishtail braid and secure it with a thin hair tie and that’s it. Now you are ready to flaunt your cascade braid.
